Product Search

The search function can be used in three ways.

A search of product descriptions, where the results are not categorized.
A search of BBN product codes, where the results are not categorized.
A categorized search of product descriptions, where the results are sorted into categories, which are displayed in a droplist.
You can select a category from the droplist to display the results for that category.

To perform a search of product descriptions

Type in up to 4 "keywords" in the textbox to the left of the go button.
A "keyword" is a sequence characters. Examples are drill and 6.5cm
"keywords" are separated by a space.
Ensure that the tickbox to the left of the text "Display results by category." is NOT ticked Click the go button.

To perform a search of BBN product codes

Type in the first "n" characters of a BBN product code in the textbox to the left of the go button.
An example is 0301108
Click the go button.

To perform a categorized search of product descriptions

Click on the tickbox to the left of the text "Display results by category."
A tick should appear in the box.
Type in up to 4 "keywords" in the textbox to the left of the go button.
A "keyword" is a sequence characters. Examples are drill and 6.5cm
"keywords" are separated by one or more spaces.
Click the go button.

More detailed explanations of the different type of searches,with examples, are given below.

Searching product descriptions

Up to 4 keywords can be used. As more keywords are used, the search results are narrowed down to those products whose descriptions contain ALL the keywords.
An example is shown below.

Bosch	Approximately 300 products are found
bosch drill	Approximately 160 products are found
bosch drill bit	Approximately 130 products are found
bosch drill bit 150	Approximately 30 products are found

Searching product codes

A single keyword is used.
This keyword can be either a full BBN product code, or the first few characters of a BBN product code. The more characters of a BBN product code that are used, the fewer products will be found.
An example is shown below.

Keywords	Search results
03110	Approximately 50 products are found
031108	Approximately 25 products are found
03110801	Approximately 8 products are found
0311080140hz	This is a full BBN product code and one product is found

Categorized searching of product descriptions

To select this type of search, click on the tickbox to the left of the text "Display results by category."
A tick should appear in the box.

Up to 4 keywords can be used. As more keywords are used, the search results are narrowed down to those products whose descriptions contain ALL the keywords.
The search results are grouped into categories.
These categories appear in a drop list.
The number of products in a particular category appears to the right of the category name.
Click on one of the items in the drop list to view the products in that category.
Examples are shown below.
